Sentimental Style

September 22, 2008

The beautiful designs at Sentimental Style are for personal non profit use only and they have been created in Paint Shop Pro X. All of Melissa’s creations are mainly created for taggers so her designs are on a much smaller scale than the average industry sized scraps.

Despite their smaller size, there quality makes it worth checking them out. Her freebies include alphas, embellishments as well as whole kits.

Wordle

September 17, 2008

Wordle is a toy for generating “word clouds” from text that you provide. The clouds give greater prominence to words that appear more frequently in the source text. You can tweak your clouds with different fonts, layouts, and color schemes. The images you create with Wordle are yours to use however you like.

Wordle is a Java applet, and Java applets are not permitted to write anything to your disk, so it can’t be saved as a png or jpg file. But you can take a screen shot or convert to PDF. PDF’s can be opened in either Elements or Photoshop and you can edit and add to a digiscrap layout.

Identity Theft

September 12, 2008

I have never highlighted an individual layout on this site before, but I was sent a link to this one and it touched me, so I wanted to share it with you. If you have ever lost a loved one to Alzheimer’s or one of the many forms of dementia this will touch you too.

CoffeeShop Photography

August 11, 2008

CoffeeShop Photography provides free tutorials and actions for Photoshop and Elements.   The actions for Photoshop work in version 7 and above and the actions for Elements have only been tested in PSE 6.0

The tutorials are related to the actions, not how to run them, but how to create the same effects without the action.   Looking at those tutorials makes you appreciate just how useful actions can be!

Here is an example of just one of the many free actions sets Rita has made available on her blog:

Artistic Scrap Designs

August 7, 2008

Artistic Scrap Designs is a newly opened digiscrap store, that includes a gallery, blog and forum.   The designer, Jen Clark, is a friend of mine from the Photoshop Creative Elements forum.

Unfortunately, Jen’s computer crashed a couple of days ago, which put a halt to the uploading of product to the store, but there is still a nice selection of unique paper packs.    I’m sure there will be more intersting things coming from the Jen’s creative mind very soon.

Font Conference

July 30, 2008

This is not really scrapping related – but I know there are a lot of scrappers that are font junkies and you are going to get a kick out of this video called Font Conference.
